Private Label Perfume Manufacturing in the UAE: A Practical Guide
By Black Oud Factory

Private label lets you launch a fragrance line without owning a factory. This is what the process actually looks like from first brief to palletised stock.
Private label means the factory manufactures the product and you own the brand. In fragrance this is the standard route to market: the capital cost of compounding equipment, filling lines and a decoration hall runs into millions of dirhams, and none of it makes your brand more distinctive than your scent, your bottle and your story do.
Step one: the brief
A usable brief answers five questions — what product type, for which market, at what retail price, in what volume, by when. Everything else follows from those. If you already sell in a market, bring your bestselling reference; matching and improving an existing scent is faster and cheaper than developing from a written description alone.
Step two: fragrance development
Our perfumers typically build two to four directions from a brief. You smell them on blotters and on skin, at both the top and the dry-down, and you pick a direction or ask for a modification. Concentration matters commercially as much as creatively: eau de parfum, extrait and oil-based attar all carry different raw-material costs and different shelf expectations.
Step three: bottle and packaging
You can work from our stock bottle library, which is the fastest and cheapest route, or commission a dedicated mould, which raises both cost and lead time but gives you a shape no competitor can buy. Either way the decoration is where a stock bottle stops looking like a stock bottle — screen printing in up to six colours, hot foil stamping, frosting, and full or gradient spray coating in matte, gloss or soft-touch.
- Stock bottle plus custom decoration — lowest cost, fastest to market
- Stock bottle plus custom rigid box — strong retail presence at moderate cost
- Dedicated mould — highest differentiation, longest lead time
Step four: sampling and sign-off
A pre-production sample is couriered for approval. Check the fill level, the spray pattern, the cap fit, the print registration and the scent against your approved blotter. When you are satisfied, you sign a specification sheet. That document is the reference for every future reorder, which is how batch three still matches batch one two years later.
Step five: production and export
Our minimum order is 100 units per product. Compounding, maceration, filling, decoration, assembly and quality control run in sequence, with batch checks for leak, torque, colour and fill before packing. Export documentation — MSDS, certificate of analysis, certificate of origin — is prepared by our own export desk, and we ship by air, sea and courier from Ajman and Jebel Ali to more than 100 countries.
What private label does not cover
Manufacturing is not distribution. Trademark registration in your target market, product registration where required, retail listings and marketing remain yours. Factor those timelines in alongside production, not after it.
